Channel 4 is a publicly-owned and commercially-funded UK public service broadcaster. With no in-house production, they commission content from production companies throughout the UK. Channel 4 is home to many headline shows, such as Great British Bake Off, Made in Chelsea and First Dates.

The Brief

Working closely with Channel 4 for over 6 years, we have produced design work for many of their headline shows, including; Bake Off, Gogglebox, Hollyoaks, and Made In Chelsea, to name but a few, as well as numerous branding, experiential and email design. We relish every opportunity with Channel 4, we are lucky to be their design partners.

Business Objectives

Channel 4 has an aim to deliver high-quality, innovative, alternative content that challenges the status quo.

As a “publisher-broadcaster”, Channel 4 continues to be innovative and distinctive. Their objectives include stimulating public debate on contemporary issues, reflecting the cultural diversity of the UK and championing alternative points of view, inspiring change in people's lives and to nurture new and existing talent. All of these elements help Channel 4 adapt to a challenging marketplace and change viewing habits.

Process: Understanding, Development and Design

Each project comes with its individual opportunity. Whether it’s branding or experiential design, we get to give each opportunity its own personality.

With such a strong brand, we work within the confines of the C4 guidelines, whilst making each piece of work innovative and creative. This creates some interesting challenges, which we relish daily. The variety of work we produce for the Channel is phenomenal and there’s never a shortage of exciting projects to get our teeth in to.

Results and Successes

We have built a successful long-term relationship with the team at Channel 4. We work closely with them on a daily basis to create beautiful work that responds to their brief and delivers results.
