Becoming is the Autobiography by the former first lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama. Before reading this book I knew that Michelle Obama was someone to be admired, but I didn’t know a great deal about her. I believe that this book is a credit to her and is written from the heart. She comes across as a real, intelligent and warm woman who is passionate about her family as well as helping others.
The book discusses her early life and what it was like growing up on the South Side of Chicago with a strong-willed father battling MS, to how she met Barack and what it was like being a mother in the White House. She reveals what it was like to have such an important husband and how she coped with the world’s eyes upon her.
This is not only an inspirational book, written by a truly inspirational woman. It is also a book that evokes emotions such as sadness and anger, as well as laughter and hope. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to not only women or fans of Michelle Obama, but to everyone.
